While THC is well-known to activate CB1 receptors causing increased appetite, CBD has the opposite effect, suppressing appetite and aiding in weight loss.
Additionally, researchers recently discovered that CBD causes the body to store and convert fats differently. They found that CBD plays dual modulatory roles in the form of inducing a "Browning" effect (when white fat cells that store energy change into brown cells that burn energy) as well as promoting lipid metabolism.
While new studies are being conducted yearly, CBD is starting to gain respect as an option for those looking at appetite suppression and may offer benefits that can lead to weight management.
