BREAKING: The U.S. House of Representatives voted 228-164 on Friday to pass the historic MORE Act decriminalizing cannabis at the federal level, and clearing the way to erase nonviolent federal marijuana convictions.
All but six Democrats voted YES. All but five Republicans voted NO. The one independent voted YES.
The bill now moves to the U.S. Senate where it is expected to be rejected by current Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell. However, all attention now moves to Georgia where two Senate runoffs are scheduled in January. Should the Democrats win those races and take back control of the Senate, new Majority Leader Chuck Schumer will likely pass the legislation.
